Status of OMF 5.2 deployment at WINLAB¶

General upgrade strategy: start off with OML 5.2 packages, then make local modifications to the code if necessary. Then DO NOT install any more package upgrades - instead tell Ivan to move the local mods out of the way, then let him upgrade, then put the local mods back in.

internal1¶

• omf-aggmgr-5.2 is installed
• Port number is 5052
• Enabled service is inventory
• CMC service in 5.2 is broken and therefore not used
• machine hosts main inventory mysql database
• inventory gridservice uses database "inventory52"
• testbeds and nodes tables are missing a lot of information, e.g. URLs and control IPs
• gridservice1 is running on port 5012 and serves CMC, since that is the only working CMC GS at Winlab
• gridservice2 is running on port 5022 serving the "old" inventory (database "inventory")

internal2¶

• runs an old AM with login service on port 5022
• also runs an inventory service?
• Do not upgrade for now.

repository2¶

• new AM runs frisbee, pxe, saveimage on port 5052
• old AM runs PXE and frisbee service on 5022
• Openfire is installed here. Need to create system nodes.

external2 (oml)¶

• don't touch for now

idb1 (oml)¶

• runs a OMF 5.2 AM with result service on port 5052
• runs the latest OML server only
• setup is complete

Baseline image¶

• I used the existing WINLAB baseline image (baseline.ndz), renamed it to baseline-5.2.1.ndz and installed OMF 5.2 RC in it. The old NH is still running in this image, so it is in fact compatible with the new and the old OMF.

PXE image¶

• PXE config name is omf-5.2. It uses kernel /tftpboot/linux-omf-pxe-2.6.32 and filesystem /tftpboot/initramfs-omf-pxe-5.2.1.bz2
